First off, no one on this list “only” homeschools!
But EVERYONE on this list has provided me with a service—organization, creativity, curriculum, inspiration, and help through some tough times.
We don’t always know what is around the corner, now more than ever. A lot of parents have transistioned to working at home, or teaching their kids, and have no clue where to start.
Don’t worry…
We’ve all been there! (Read it again if you’re overwhelmed: We have ALL been there!)
One of the whole points of my blog was to share all that help that I found.
Sometimes you don’t know all the tools you have available, and the transition to motherhood and homeschooling and homemaking proves that to me all the damn time!
The Links, already!
Here are 10 bloggers that saved my bacon—figuratively AND literally!
The Multi-Taskin’ Mom : If you never planned on homemaking, homeschooling, or have NO CLUE how to start an organizational project, START HERE. I’ve been using tips and printables from this blog for years, and it helped me sort out our household priorities would be, and how to segment goals. Right now, she is offering her 2020 Christmas Blessing Bundle—a TOTALLY FREE download of coupons for freebies from an entire network of homeschoolers, homemakers, and homesteaders! Download the bundle today or tomorrow, and use the coupons before 11/22! No, I’m not affiliated, IT’S THAT AWESOME: https://themultitaskinmom.com/blessings-bundles/
Solve Learning Disabilities : As a preschool teacher, I referred to this blog daily. Discussing ADD to Visual Processing, this blog helped me communicate with autistic students, find kinetic exercises to engage children disinterested and struggling with writing, and introduced our household to Primitive Reflex Integration. They offer video trainings, exercise cards, and activities. I recommend them for both teachers and parents interested in the physiology of learning disabilities, you can check out the courses here (where I do receive an affiliate commision): https://solvelearningdisabilities.teachable.com/?affcode=90653_f6kthvsp
Jen Merckling Life Unimaginable : This great lady has such a calming vibe, I really enjoy her posts when I feel like there’s too much too handle (often, she is the reminder that it doesn’t all need to be done now!) A veteran homeschooler, she has advice for every age range!
An Off-Grid Life : Anyone who wants to homestead should read this blog! Even if you want to be “on grid”, there is a huge wealth of information here. Energy sources, old-school recipes, projects for kids, and balancing homeschool learning with outdoor education.
Playdough to Plato : I was lucky enough to find this blog while teaching preschool, and it made math and STEM activities a total breeze. We often used reading games from here too, because they are super cute! Right now, you can join the waitlist for The Plato Pack, a membership site made for Pre-K through 1st grade teachers. Next enrollment begins January 3rd!
Mom for All Seasons : Heather Bowen has been another blogger I’ve followed for ages! She has tons of large family advice, recipes, and A BAJILLION freebies! Love it!
Homeschool on the Range : This is another more nature-based homeschool, with kids’ activities up to middle school. I also go here for advice about work-life balance on a homestead, animals and children, and adorable printables! 2021 Calendars are up!
SHTF Preparedness : If you are a prepper, like camping, or pretty much want to be safe outdoor, check this blog out! Survival information for emergencies, harsh weather gardening, functional historical recipes (talk about a great tie-in to history class)! If you ever wondered “can this kill me?” on a hike, this is for you.
Rebecca Page : As much as I want to be an outdoor gal, I love girly things too. One of my outlets is sewing, although I’ll admit it has been a reeeeeally long time. But in the meantime, Rebecca Page is a super beginning friendly sewing blog, complete with lessons, tricks, free and for-pay patterns! Totally inspiring.
Clarissa R. West : I started using this blog for the totally sweet printables! But SCORE! She also has recipes, ways to get organized, and kind words for the days where *no* it;s not gunna happen. She has a ton of printable scripture cards, allergen-safe recipes, and is incredible at sharing her experiences. Oh, and she’s from “here” too, so no bias! 😉
Whew! I hope you find something!
Well, thanks! That was my first round-up and I’m pumped you might get a chance to enjoy some of the blogs that have really helped me personally! They aren’t in any order, save for the first because it has a close deadline.
